This month, Allure partnered with beauty Youtuber Carli Bybel to curate their monthly beauty box. Truthfully, the collaborative boxes aren’t always my favorite, but I actually enjoy more out of the April box than I thought I would.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in ‘pure hollywood’
Ya’ll know my all time favorite liquid lipstick formula is from Bare Minerals and their Gen Nude collection, but I am willing to give the ABH formula a shot. I’ve heard good things, but I’ve also heard they’re a little drying, so I’m not sure if this will be my cup of tea.
The shade Pure Hollywood is actually gorgeous; I’m excited that’s the shade in the box. It’s a pale mauve and one of ABH’s best-selling shades. They chose this color because it pairs well with the smokey eye Carli is known for.

Natasha Denona Mono Eye Shadow *
I’ve only dabbled into the Natasha Denona brand once, with the Safari palette. And while I’m not 100% convinced that palette is worth $129, I do really enjoy it and get a lot of use from it. In this month’s box, we got a single shade from her line. While expensive, I think they’re a little more worth it if you find a shade you like as opposed to buying an entire palette you may not use.
The shadow formulas are good, though. The mattes are creamy–a little hard to work with at first because of how pigmented they are, but beautiful nonetheless. And from what I understand, the shimmers are gorgeous.
I received the shade Bronzage, which is a beautiful orangey/bronze shimmer. And from playing with the swatch, I think I’m going to get on with this well!

Luxie #231 Small Tapered Blending Brush
I love getting new makeup brushes…mainly so I can go longer in between washes. I know, I know, but I’m a little lazy. Luxie is no stranger to the Allure Beauty Box, and I have grown to really love their brushes.
The brush is pretty short, tapered, and made with synthetic hairs. It also seems like a #217 from Mac but smaller and thinner. I think I’m going to like using this to apply color with a little more precision on the outer corners of the eye or maybe blend a bright color into the center of the lid? We shall see!

Laura Geller Inkcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil*
Receiving eyeliners is a hit or miss for me. I have a lot, and I’m always afraid of getting yet another black liner. However, I love this liner from Laura Geller so much I wouldn’t have minded it in black.
I received the shade Deep Purple, which is just that … a deep, royal purple. It’s so pretty and looks amazing with the Natasha Denona shadow mentioned above. The formula is super pigmented and creamy, waterproof, and seems to be pretty long wearing.

Vita Liberata Phenomenal Organic Tan Infused Cloths
I’m pale AF. I’m pale in the winter. And pale in the fall. Pale in the spring. And, you guessed it, pale in the summer. I don’t self tan because I just don’t have the patience and have learned to embrace my ghostly skin tone. So I don’t know if I’ll get any use out of these tanning cloths from Vita Liberata.
I guess these are just self tanner in cloth form. You wipe it all along your body, wait 4 hours, and you’re good to go with a natural-looking tan and glow without the smell of typical self-tanners.
I’d be interested in trying these on my legs for events to reduce the appearance of the veins and bruises I frequently get? But only if it’s light enough? Have any of you guys used these? What do you think?

Briogeo Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Perfection & Heat Protectant Creme
Truthfully, I hate getting hair products in these subscription boxes. But I also know they are not catered to me; I’m actually pretty insignificant in the curation. However, I do like the Briogeo brand. This month we got a blow dry cream that is supposed to act as a heat protectant and frizz-defying agent.
It smells really good, but I haven’t tried it yet. So I’m not sure how I feel. We’ll see if I get use from it at the end of the year during my Allure Beauty Box roundup.
$24 for 4 oz ; Box value = $6.25 for .75 oz.
