I’ve been craving some emerald and earthy green tones, and apparently so has everyone else. Colourpop just released their newest eye shadow palette–an all green 9 pan. I like funky makeup as much as the next enthusiast, but I tend to wear my color subtly.
This post is a highlight of 12 green makeup products and a few tips on how to wear green makeup this spring.
Dior Fix It 2-in-1 Prime & Color Correct
Inspired by backstage makeup techniques, Dior created a handful of multi-purpose color correcting sticks, and they are awesome. The various colors are used for targeted color correction, and the formula is infused with a soft-focus, full-coverage powder. Sounds weird, I know. But it almost works as a primer. Your pores and winkles look a bit smoothed and reduced, but you also get a creamy and effective coverage.
There are a few color options, but to keep on theme, I definitely suggest the green to combat redness.
Milk Makeup Eye Pigment – Mermaid Parade
For those of you who love vivid and bold color with little effort, I suggest the eye pigments from Milk Makeup. With one swipe (and a little goes a long way), you get an intense color with a soft and silky texture. It also dries pretty fast, which could be good or bad.
The shade Mermaid Parade is an amazingly gorgeous emerald green shimmer. My favorite way to use these pigments is to smudge it all over the lid for a one shadow eye look.
Charlotte Tilbury The Rebel Shadow Quad
To be fair, I haven’t actually used this. But I’ve swatched it and lusted after it. The shadows are creamy and silky with some intense color pigmentation but still very sophisticated.
What I love about this quad is you can get a pretty olive eye look with the left-hand shades, or you can use all four shades to create a dimensional green look.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Highlighter Gel Eye Crayon Liner – Ody(Sea)
These may be my favorite eyeliners of all time. They’re kind of like a gel/pencil hybrid. You can the luxury of a soft gel liner with the easy of a pencil. It’s also waterproof and can be used for precise lines or to smudge out on the lash line or all over the lash line.
The shade Ody(Sea) is a beautiful teal green shimmer that would be perfect if you want to make a splash with green without going over the top.
You could smudge this over the entire lid and lower lash line for a sultry, smokey situation, or you can use to create a fun wing on a bare eye.
Bite Beauty Prismatic Pearl Creme Lip Gloss – Peacock Pearl
Bite Beauty’s lip glosses are so nice! They’re moisturizing and not sticky, which is a requirement for me. These Prismatic glosses are cool because they contain tons of metallic, multi-dimensional shades inspired by Tahitian black pearls.
Peacock Pearl is a cool metallic teal with black, red, and green shimmer. I think it’d look killer on a ballsy makeup lover.
Julep Eye Shadow 101 Creme to Powder Eye Shadow Stick – Olive Shimmer
I have quite a few of these shadow sticks from Julep, and I get a ton of use out of them! The olive shade would be amazing for a one shadow look in a subtle green tone or used to smudge out along the lash line as liner.
Stila Little White Lies Liquid Eye Shadow – Mint Myth
Like Stila’s shimmer liquid eye shadows, the Little White Lies collection packs a punch with intense shimmer, but with a twist. The Mint Myth shade starts with a shimmering white liquid base that transforms into a luminescent and punchy mint twinkle.
This would take an otherwise neutral look to a new level by adding this on the lid as a shadow topper to add a green glimmer.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow – Telepathy
One of my longtime favorite green products is Colourpop’s Super Shock Shadow in the shade Telepathy. The ultra-metallic chartreuse shade pops amazingly against my blue eyes and has a variety of uses. I like to pop this all over the lid, use as an unexpected highlight on the inner corner, or smudged along my bottom lash line for a unusual pop of color.
Colourpop BFF Liquid Liner – The Hills
A favorite way to add some color into a look is using a colored eyeliner. The new BFF liquid liners from Colourpop are pigmented and come in a variety of fun shades, like this forest green called The Hills.
If you’re like me and don’t like a huge amount of color on the eyes, I’d suggest starting with a pretty bare lid or with a wash of a neutral shade and use this liner to create a green wing. I love the look of colored winged liner on a bare eye.
Essie Mooning Nail Polish
On your face via makeup isn’t the only way to incorporate a bit of green into a look. I love the idea of donning this muted mossy green from Essie on your nails. Not only do I enjoy Essie’s formula, there is a color for everybody!
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer
Ok so … this is for those of you who reeeeeally aren’t into green. This is a stretch, but I like this primer, and it’s technically green.
CBD, cannabis seed extract, and other hemp-derived ingredients are currently popular in beauty and skincare, especially in Milk Makeup’s products. This makeup gripping primer hydrates and smooths the look of skin while providing anti-oxidant benefits, smooths the look of texture and seals in moisture while it calms the skin.
The bottom line? It makes you skin feel nice and keeps your makeup in place. And it’s technically green, remember.
Herbivore Jade Facial Roller
Again, technically this is a green beauty product. You know how much I love a jade roller to reduce the appearance of puffiness and make the skin look brighter. If you want to jump on the green train without going all in, try adding a rejuvenating jade roller to your skincare regime.
