Sephora is notoriously stingy when it comes to having sales. There’s two throughout the year–one in the spring and one in the fall. But this year, they sprung a surprise VIB Appreciation Event on us. Don’t quote me, but I think this is an additional sale, and we’ll still see a VIB sale later in the fall. I believe this is to promote the new rewards program, which I can touch base on if anyone is interested.
I wanted to get this post out before the sale started, but if I’m being honest, I just didn’t want to actually write it. I’ve been having a lazy weekend in my hometown, and I’ve stayed off my computer for the past few days. But here I am! Today I’ll run through the basic info of Sephora’s VIB Appreciation Sale event, 10 products I’d recommend, and the things I picked up for myself.
The Basics
The sale runs from August 24-September 3, and is open to all tiers of the Sephora Beauty Insider program. It’s available online as well as in store. Members should receive promotions in the mail and through email with codes. You may use your code as many times as you’d like throughout the sale in store; however, you may only use the online code once.

10 Product Recommendations
Makeup
- Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Eye Shadow Palette in ‘Glambition:’ I have quite a few eye palettes, but I just can’t stop reaching for this one. It’s my go-to when I’m pressed for time, am traveling, or just want to know my eye shadow is going to look good throughout the day. I like all of the Eye-Conic palettes, but this one is going to amazing if you like a natural, everyday look but also want the option to create a sultry evening look as well. It’s got everything you need in a palette– a light highlight shade, a couple of transition/crease shades, a few shimmery lid shades, a deep brown, and a black. It’s perfect. $49, sephora.com
- Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in ‘Chai:’ I’ve mentioned my love for Bite Beauty products before, and my love is only growing. Bite’s products are made of food grade ingredients. Not only are these lipsticks going to be creamy, comfortable, and long lasting on the lips, but they aren’t full of artificial ingredients.I received ‘Chai’ as a deluxe sample, and I’m loving the mauve brown shade. I have a feeling it’ll be a go-to come fall. $26, sephora.com
- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in ‘Incandescent Electra:’ Hourglass blushes may be my favorite blush formula. They are subtle but don’t go unnoticed, and because they contain a highlight throughout the powder, applying them to your cheeks gives you a lit from within glow in one step. I have used ‘Incandescent Electra’ almost every day over the summer. It’s a lovely peach shade mixed with the ‘Incandescent Strobe Light’ that gives a vibrant but soft glow on your cheeks. $38, sephora.com
Skincare
- Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser: If you’re looking for a gentle cleanser that’ll get the job done–remove makeup and cleanse the skin–without over drying your skin, this is something I’d highly recommend. This cleanser will be effective no matter your skin type. It will remove oils, makeup, and dirt while hydrating and balancing the skin. $24, sephora.com
- Tatcha The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder: They’ve recently come out with specific rice polish powders, but I’ve not tried those. So I’m specifically recommending the original. This is my all time favorite product for exfoliating. It’s not an abrasive exfoliate, and instead of rough beads, it has a gentle foaming consistency. I notice a tremendous difference in the luminosity and texture of my skin when using this regularly. $65, sephora.com
- Shiseido Facial Cotton: Ten dollars for a facial cottons seems ridiculous, and honestly the first time I considered buying these, I thought so too. But guys…I really do recommend these. With cotton rounds I buy from Rite Aid or Target, I always get little cotton fibers in my eyes or left on my face that pill up in my skincare. These cottons from Shiseido are immensely soft and don’t shed the cotton fibers. They almost feel cushiony, and the liquids don’t get absorbed into the cotton as quickly and easily as other cotton pads. $10, sephora.com
- L’Occitane Cleansing Shower Oil with Almond Oil: If you use Sephora’s VIB sales for indulgent purchases, give this cleansing shower oil a go. The oil lathers into a milky foam that cleans your skin and leaves it incredibly smooth. The scent is a delicate almond scent and will elevate any shower you take. And a little goes a long way, so this bottle will last quite a while. $25, sephora.com
Fragrance
- Chloe Eau de Parfum: This has been my signature scent for at least the past two years. It’s sophisticated and classic but sexy and chic at the same time. It mixes peony and rose with honey and ceadarwood and creates something very sensual. It’s one of those fragrances to me that smells expensive. $105 (1.7 oz.), sephora.com
- Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb: Typically, I’m not a fan of sweet fragrances, but this one is so pleasant. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like the Flowerbomb from V&R. It’s warm and spicy but sweet. The key notes in this are jasmine, orange blossom, and patchouli. $115 (1.7 oz.), sephora.com
Hair
- Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3: I’m never wow’d by a hair product. I either like it or I hate it, but I’ve never been inclined to passionately recommend a hair product. However, I’ve noticed an amazing difference in the strength and health of my hair.I’m not going to get too detailed about this, because I’m going to highlight it in an upcoming post about my hair routine. It’s not a conditioner. It’s a treatment that strengthens your hair and reduces breakage. $28, sephora.com
