Hi Friends! Today I wanted to share the super simple everyday makeup I’ve been reaching for when I’m in a hurry – or my 5 minute makeup favorites, if you will.
I’ve been in a funk lately. Maybe it’s the cosmos, maybe it’s PMS – but regardless of the reason, I have been overwhelmed, uninspired, and generally feeling bogged down. And the last thing I have wanted to do in the mornings is put on a full face of makeup.
Since I work from home, I honestly don’t tend to wear makeup on the daily. However, there are plenty of days throughout the week I want to zhuzh up. Sometimes I have errands or plans throughout the day or plan on going into the office. But if I’m applying makeup in a hurry, I typically am just in need of a mind reset before work, and I need to get myself put together fast.
I plan on doing an entire post dedicated to the beauty rituals I use for a solid mind reset in the future. But at its core, it’s one of those days you feel a little dissociated and need a quick little routine to get you feeling productive again.
So if you’re looking for an easy 5 minute face of makeup, need a little zhuzh, or you just don’t want a long makeup routine, here are the products I’ve been reaching for lately!
This post was created in collaboration with Merit Beauty in exchange for gifted items. All opinions are mine!
The Everyday Makeup I’ve Been Reaching for When I Don’t Feel Like Wearing Makeup
Base & Face: The name of the game is quick, so any time I can multi-task, I’m gonna!
I mix a little Sunday Riley Light Hearted* sunscreen with a tiny bit of the Kosas Revealer Foundation*.
The sunscreen formula leaves my skin feeling hydrated and looking glowy. Mixing the foundation, which is lightweight, offers a bit of coverage and evens out my complexion. Finish off the base layer with just a little Kosas Revealer Concealer* on problem spots and under the eye.
Next, I need to add a little color to my complexion to look alive. Merit’s Bronze Balm sheer bronzer is the perfect bronzing product for days like this. It creates a warm, soft definition. I even blend a little of this onto my eyelids.
I always finish the cheek with a pop of blush. The Jones Road Miracle Balm in Flushed has been a go-to. The bright pink color adds so much life to my complexion and looks like I put a lot of effort in (but I didn’t.)
Finishing Touches: Once my face is done, a few finishing touches complete the entire look.
Curling my lashes* instantly makes me look more awake. Sometimes I forgo mascara, especially when I am staying at home, but if I do reach for it, I’ve been coating my lashes in the Clean Lash Mascara from Merit.
It’s a tubing mascara that leaves my lashes black and defined but still a little subtle. The tubing formula keeps it from flaking and smudging on my under eyes. And removal is a breeze at the end of the day.
To finish the eyes, I apply a tiny bit of highlighter to my inner corners and under the brow bone. This changes depending on what is closet, but the Merit Day Glow in Cava is what I’m wearing today.
Finally I finish off by applying a little lip balm. The Lawless Forget the Filler Plumping Mask* in Birthday Cake makes my lips looks plump and full (& super hydrated.) And simply brushing my brows into place pulls the whole look together.
When you’re done, keep your 5 minute makeup favorites housed in Merit’s stylish signature bag.
It’s free with your first purchase from their website (& always enjoy free shipping with orders over $40)!
And that is how I create a super simple, 5 minute makeup look on days where I simply can’t be bothered.
What are your go-to everyday makeup favorites?
