Who doesn’t want to receive free makeup? That’s where PR lists come in, and there are a few brand’s PR lists I’d love to be on. I didn’t get into blogging for the free stuff. But I’d be lying if I said PR opportunities weren’t a lovely perk. And while there are loads of people who take issue with bloggers and PR, the reality is it’s extremely helpful.
Especially when your content is review based, receiving PR helps me try and share products I may not have had the chance to otherwise. It also allows for earlier reviews, instead of having to wait until after launches to purchase, test, and get a review up on the blog. From time to time I receive PR, but currently, it’s not a constant. And I wouldn’t necessarily want to receive loads of PR from every brand. I don’t need that much product. However, there are a handful of brands that, given the chance, I’d love to work with and try more from in the future. So today we’re talking about 5 PR lists I’d love to be on and why.
5 PR Lists I’d Love to Be On & Why
Gucci Beauty
Gucci is a brand I follow with great interest. I’m a fashion person at heart (and by trade/training), and Gucci is a fun brand that is inspiring to me and keeps me on my toes. So I was quite enthralled when they launched their Gucci Beauty line. I’ve used some of the fragrance in the past and enjoyed it (Mémoire d’une Odeur Eau de Parfum*, particularly.) As of now, I’ve only used three products (they’re a little $$$.) I talk about the L’Obscur Mascara* all of the time, so I won’t spend too much time here. I love the formula of the matte lipsticks*. They’re a powdery matte formula but aren’t at all uncomfortable. And the sheer formula* (in the floral packaging, swoon) is just as lovely. It’s lightweight and offers just the right amount of pigment.
Not only do I find the quality of the products I currently own to be great, I also am just attracted to the brand. The packaging is gorgeous. And while packaging doesn’t make or break a product, it’s hard to deny the beauty this product packaging has. It feels special when I use it. And that’s something I love from a brand.
Because I constantly am adding their launches to my wishlist and cart, use and love the products, and continuously recommend them to you guys, I’d love the receive their PR. I’d always get a chance to review the new makeup.
Gucci Beauty Wishlist:
- Poudre De Beauté Éclat Soleil Bronzing Powder*: The packaging on this is seriously swoon worthy. And the tones look like they’d suit me well.
- Éclat De Beauté Effet Lumière — All Over Face & Lip Gloss*: I’ve been super into face glosses and a wet look on various points of the face.
- Rouge à Lèvres Mat Matte Lipstick*: I’d love a few more shades of this — particularly: Ruby Firelight*, They Met In Argentina*, Virginia Fleur de Lis*, and Louisa Red*.
- Rouge à Lèvres Voile Sheer Lipstick*: Again, I have one of these and I’d love a few more shades. I particularly have my eye on: Marguerite Jade*, Louisa Red*, Agatha Orange*, and Mildred Rosewood*.
Maison Margiela Fragrance
If we’re talking brands I wish I could work with in any capacity, Maison Margiela immediately gets added to the list, specifically the REPLICA fragrance line. I adore the concept of this fragrance line — capturing memories of specific moments. Each fragrance tells a story, and if you try, you can really picture the moment in its fullest. And the packaging is beautiful yet completely simple. These are decadent fragrances, and I am smitten, slowly building my REPLICA collection.
My number one favorite is By the Fireplace*. Snow is falling outside of the window. The fire is going in the fireplace. Lights are dim. You’re wrapped in a soft and comforting blanket, roasting marshmallows in the crackling light. You can smell the firewood. And that is exactly what this smells like. It’s not overpowering on the skin as a perfume*, and this candle*? It’s my all time favorite, especially in the winter.
As I said, I’m slowly but surely building my collection of REPLICA fragrances. But boy are they pricey. Pricey, but worth it to me. And that’s a reason this line made my list of PR lists I’d love to be on. I find the price to be worth it for the experience I have using the products. So I recommend them to you. But I don’t have the funds to sample and spend time with every single product. This is where PR can be helpful. It allows me to familiarize myself with the fragrance so I can best recommend them.
Maison Margiela Fragrance Wishlist:
- Bubble Bath Collection*: “A moment of relaxation in a foaming bath. Hot scented water and pure wellness.”
- Jazz Club Collection*: “The cozy atmosphere of a private club. Chic and heady cocktail. Honey and woody notes of cigar boxes.”
- Lazy Sunday Morning Collection*: “Silky-smooth skin, crumpled linen sheets and the reassuring scent of laundry.”
- Whispers in the Library Collection*: “The slowing down of time between whispers and turning pages.”
- At the Barber’s Collection*: “Recall the orchestrated gestures and the fresh atmosphere of a local barber shop.”
Tower 28
I’m a total fan girl for Tower 28 lately. The aesthetic is a little cheekier than the other brands on this list, but so far the products I’ve tried are high quality. I can’t shut up about the Shine-On Milky Lip Jellies* (want to get every color,) and I basically have my eye on everything else.
I love the clear packaging. It’s modern and fun. And the formulas, from what I’m gathering, is all about quick, easy, and being fresh-faced. It’s very natural and easy to use. And that is something I am here for. The line is still fairly small, but I’m excited to see what the brand comes out with in the future.
Tower 28 Wishlist:
- SuperDew Shimmer-Free Highlighting Balm*: Again, you know me a balmy highlights.
- BeachPlease Tinted Lip + Cheek Balm*: I love the idea of a tinted balm type of blush on no makeup days. Sometimes my fair (pale) skin needs a little color, even when I forgo a lot of other makeup.
Nudestix
Nudestix is a brand I’ve heard about for years but haven’t really tried anything from. A couple of things here and there, but for the most part it’s flown under my radar. However, I’ve been noticing myself having a growing interest in the brand lately. Over the summer I picked up one of the Magnetic Plush Paints in Sweet Sangria* and am obsessed with it.
Nudestix Wishlist:
- Nudies Tinted Blur Stick*: I’m very intrigued by this. I love a sheer coverage base product.
- Nudies Bloom All Over Dewy Color*: Dewy cream blush? Need I say more?
- Magnetic Eye Color*: I’m easing into cream eyeshadows, and I like these shimmery, neutrals. (They have matte too, though.)
ROEN
I noticed a huge change in my makeup preferences last year. That’s when I was introduced to ROEN Beauty. First of the all, the aesthetics are dreamy, and I love it. From the packaging to the promo photos, you’re definitely drawn into the brand. But the packaging doesn’t matter if the products aren’t great. Luckily, they are.
Thus far I’ve only tried two products: the 11:11 Eyeshadow Quad* and the Kiss My Liquid Lip Balm*. The eyeshadow quad is one of my favorites in my collection right now. I’m always reaching for it. Aside from the color story, which I love, it’s the formulas I’m into. I was craving different textures in my makeup routine. And last year, I really started to get into a grungy, messy kind of eye look. These ROEN shadows are perfect for that. I have a full review that you can find here on the 11:11 palette. The other product I’ve used is the Kiss My Liquid Lip Balm in Remi. It’s glossy like any gloss, but it’s super hydrating, which makes it special and comfortable. And the color is a peachy nude shade on my fair skin, and I find myself grabbing for it often. It’s a purse staple for sure.
And again, ROEN is one of those brands I’d love to receive PR from because I’m already a fan of the brand. I keep an eye on their launches and spend my own money on them.
ROEN Wishlist:
- 52° Cool Palette*: I love the inclusion of a cool toned purple and brown in this quad, instead of all blacks and grays.
- Kiss My Liquid Lip Gloss in Charlie*: Dusty Rose color? Count me in.
- Cake Mascara*: I’m always on the hunt for my new favorite mascara.
- Disco Eye*: I’m forever looking for a replacement for my Colourpop Super Shock in Un. It was the glossiest, most wet looking champagne shadow. Could this be it?
- Everything Eye Brush*: I don’t buy brushes that go with a product launch often. It’s just another upsell. But I’m intrigued to try this one with the formula is was made to complement.
I’m still a little blog, and we have a small community over here on this slice of the internet. So I don’t receive a ton of PR — just a little, every now and again. But, like I said, there are a handful of PR lists I’d love to be on. While I don’t mind spending money on makeup, or even makeup to review, receiving collection in a PR capacity would be incredibly helpful. It would mean I’d be able to try new product I may not have purchased otherwise, innovative products we all may be skeptical about, and just generally be able to generate more content for you.
However, even if I was receiving PR, I would be selective. I don’t need every collection or product from every brand. I’d want to keep the list small — brands I already use, love, and pay for; brands that intrigue me; brands that YOU actually use; and indie brands if they’d have me. These are 5 of the PR lists I’d love to be on from brands I love. Maybe one day?
