While the likeliness of me (or anyone, really) ending up stranded on a desert island is extremely slim, it’s smart to have a game plan in mind. I mean…we’ve all seen Cast Away. And by “game plan,” I mean the beauty products I’d salvage while the world goes to shit around me. The products I’d have flown in on an emergency helicopter that, for some reason, can’t fly me out of there.
Are these beauty products survival essential? Some would say no, I’d say “I’d have to think about it.” Keep scrolling for the 5 beauty products I’d want with me on a desert island, and be sure to share yours in the comments!
1 | Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Treatment in Simply Rose
There could not a soul around, but I will always have something on my lips. Even when I’m home alone, I like to have a moisturizing lip balm, gloss, or lipstick and prefer to have a little touch of color. What I love about the Kiehl’s Butterstick is how moisturizing it is. It’s very similar to the Fresh Sugar Lip treatment but a little bit thicker and waxier. The consistency allows the balm to adhere to the lips a little better and keeps it from slipping and sliding around.
I also love that this treatment for the SPF factor. If you’ve never had your lips sun burnt, take my word for it when I say it hurts. Simply rose is my favorite shade; it’s the perfect rosy pink that works well with a full face of makeup but isn’t too bold to wear on a bare face.

2 | Coola Mineral Sun Silk Creme SPF 30
Honestly, if I were deserted on an island, I’d be happy with literally any kind of SPF, but if I had my choice, I’d want my Coola Mineral Sun Silk. My body doesn’t mind SPF, but my face is a little pickier. This formula is lightweight and doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily and covered in product. It soaks into the skin and leaves it feeling soft, and even a little moisturized.
Mineral sunscreens tend to leave a white cast behind, but this one doesn’t–which makes it great for beneath makeup.

3 | L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream
If I can’t fly in something luxurious like a radio, the least I can do is use a lavish moisturizer. I mean…think of how drying salt water would be on the skin! The Immortelle Divine Cream from L’Occintane may be the most…divine…moisturizing cream I have ever used. Using this leaves my skin feeling like velvet and looking amazingly luminous.

4 | L’Oreal Lumi Shake and Glow Dew Mist
Just because no one is around doesn’t mean I can’t be the glowing goddess in my own tropical paradise (hoping it’s tropical; hoping it’s paradise). Not only does this mist give you the most fabulous luminous glow, the mist is so fine that it feels luxurious misting it onto the face.

5 | Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara
When forgoing other makeup, I at least need a light swipe of a good mascara. The Limitless mascara from Ilia is up there on my top 3 list, I think. It’s buildable and flake free and makes my lashes look lifted, lenghtened, curled, and more voluminous. I mean…what else could you want in a mascara?
Also, this mascara never makes my lashes feel crunchy like some other formulas do. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s made with natural ingredients.
