Fitz and I have been spending a lot of time together during self-isolation and working from home. However, just because we are constantly near each other doesn’t mean we’ve been spending quality time together. So a date night was much needed. The trick? We can’t leave the house (you know…because of self-isolation.) So I planned the cutest evening and came up with 4 other quarantine date night ideas that you can try to make this whole thing a little more enjoyable.
1 | Travel the World
Just because you can’t leave the house, doesn’t mean you can’t leave the country. What inspired this post was the date night I had planned for us this week. We went to Italy!
Get Dressed: We were having a bit of a fancy date night in Italia, so we got dressed to fit. Remember, it’s date night. Make it special, even if you’re just at home.
Set the Mood: We blared Italian music and poured some wine. (We danced in the kitchen, and it was adorable.)
Grab a Bite: To kick off our evening, we went to dinner. We made an Italian inspired dinner with things we had in the fridge–lemon chicken over caramelized onions and a rice/lentil mix with roasted green beans. And more wine.
Walk the City: We went to the Amalfi Coast for our date night. So we pulled up Google Maps/Street View and 360 photos and took a little walking tour of the city and beach.
Finish with an Activity: We chose to work a puzzle we had, luckily, of the Amalfi Coast. But choose an activity that is representative of the country or place you are visiting. Plan an actual trip to this area together or watch a movie from the country.
2 | Have a Picnic
I’ve never actually been on a romantic little picnic date (*hint isaac*), but it’s such an easy date night idea.
Head to the kitchen to whip up a few picnic treats. If you’re somewhere warm, grab a blanket and head outside to the yard — if you’re somewhere still chilly, head to the living room.
This may be our next date night, because I’ll take any excuse to dress up like a proper picnic bitch.
3 | Game Night (with friends!)
Nothing beats a good game night. Am I right? Make sure everyone brings their own snacks and drinks.
Woah, settle down. I don’t suggest inviting anyone over or going anywhere. Seriously, don’t do that right now. However, there are multiple platforms online that allow you to play interactive games with friends like Cards Against Humanity and a Harry Potter Escape Room.
4 |Astronomy 101
Personally, I love stargazing, even if there isn’t anything spectacular happening in the sky. And I think it’s something sweet and romantic to do, not only just for some time together but a chance to get out of the house as well.
Grab a few blankets and pillows, slip into your comfiest duds, and lay under the stars.
There are a few things happening in April you’ll be able to see, like asteroids in opposition (they’ll be bright), close approaches of planets, moons, and other stars, and at the end of April, Venus will be at its brightest. Click through to this link for a list of happenings in April.
5 |Indulge in a Spa Night
Let’s be real…this one for sure will lead to a whole different kind of date night. But we’re just going to stop there because my grama reads this blog.
Draw a bath and fill it with a relaxing concoction of salts and oils and have a delightful soak. Break out the oil and give each other “G-rated” massages. Indulge in face masks. Lounge around in robes and drink fruit infused waters.
What do you think of these quarantine date night ideas? How are you passing the time while practicing social distancing?

All great ideas! During this time of social distancing, we have not taken much time for ourselves. I’m thinking after reading this maybe a candle light dinner? I love your blog it’s so beautifully put together! #scsisterlove

I would have loved to light a ton of candles on our trip to Italy, but I didn’t have any unscented on hand. But that’s such a cute, romantic idea. And thank you! Thanks for stopping by (:
