The holidays are creeping up on us fast this year! I blinked, and it was December. I don’t know where 2018 went, but I do know the beauty industry came to play in the holiday department. In my last gift guide, I talked about what to get that friend who loves to be at home and indulge. Today we’re talking about gifts for the beauty junkies out there.
There are some pretty awesome gifts in the beauty world this year, and I’ve rounded up a few my favorites. We’re talking makeup, skincare, tech, and more at every price point, so you can pick something up for everyone on your list. Trust me, they’re good.
Milk Makeup Astrology Tattoo Stamps
I think this stamp idea was kind of created with festival season in mind, but I think these would make a cute, inexpensive gift for your quirky loved one.
Mario Badescu Spritz. Mist. Glow. Set
These sprays from Mario Badescu can be used in array of ways — from prepping your skin before makeup, finishing your look after makeup, or just giving bare skin a refresher. And the scents are so delicate and fresh.
Personalized Trinket Tray
I didn’t want everything on this list to be a cosmetics product, because sometimes your beauty lover wants something a little more special. Every vanity or bathroom counter could benefit from a small catchall tray — to corral rings, sponges, or hair or makeup items. I love this little one I found on Etsy. You can personalize it with an initial or a customized message and choose from a gold or silver rim. I love how simple it is.
Makeup Eraser
Any makeup lover knows that removing makeup is just as important as what you apply. These towels are literal magic. With only the towel and some warm water, you can remove all of your most stubborn makeup. It comes in a couple of colors, and is something I use frequently. Plus, you can pop them in the washer when they get dirty, making them a little more sustainable and cost effective than disposable makeup wipes.
Sephora Favorites Glow For It Set
I look forward to the Sephora Favorites sets every holiday season. They are a great way to sample a lot of new products for less money than buying each individually. I’m particularly drawn to the Glow For It set this year. The multi-branded sampler set includes 5 various luminizers for an intense glow.
Face Paint: The Story of Makeup
Like I said in my Homebody Gift Guide, I think books are one of the most lovely and personal gifts to give and receive. Beauty books come in such a wide array, usually involving beautiful photos and insider tricks. Face Paint was written by Lisa Eldridge, a makeup artist and creative director at Lancome, and showcases beauty through history. Though it’s only been commercially available for about 100, makeup has played an integral role throughout history. Face Paint showcases this complex and fascinating history in one glossy medium.
Laneige Sleep + Glow Set
Actually, if you go with anything from Laneige, you’ll be good. What I love most about this particular set is that it comes with my favorite products from the brand. This kit consists everything you need to hydrate you skin overnight. It comes with a full size Water Sleeping Mask, which adds an extra punch of hydration to your skin while you sleep; a full size Lip Sleeping Mask, which hydrates your lips deliciously; and a deluxe sample size of the Water Bank Moisture Cream, which is a heavy gel cream that feels lightweight on the skin.
Real Techniques Spotlight Essentials Set
The market is saturated with brushes. Some better than others, and some a hell of a lot more expensive than others. While I’ve spoken about pretty pricey brushes on the blog in the past, Real Techniques make some of my favorites at a pretty low price tag. The Spotlight Essentials set has everything you need to highlight and sculpt every area of your face.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 4
The Hourglass holiday launches always make great gift options, in my opinion. This year’s edit is a multi-tasking palette containing 4 best selling powders along with 2, new exclusive shades.
Fresh The Great Escape Face Mask Set
This is a mask-o-holic’s dream gift set. It contains some of Fresh’s best selling masks that will cater to your every attitude and need. From a five-minute radiance facial with Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask and petal-powered hydration with Rose Face Mask, to gentle exfoliation with Sugar Face Polish and the intensely moisturizing Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask, this set gets your complexion covered.
Anthropolgie Waterfront Floral Headband
Maybe not as glamorous and fun as a luxury palette, I think a beautifully embroidered headband would be a great addition to any beauty lover’s collection. I love this option from Anthropologie.
Framed Art
Another gift I know a beauty lover would love is framed art –beauty related, of course. Society 6 is selling a framed print of winking eyes that I think would perk up any beauty space.
Hi Mirror Mini
This is something I really am eyeing for myself. Everyone needs a good mirror for makeup application, but Hi Mirror Mini is special. The ultra sleek touch screen mirror offers skin analysis based on 8 factors and offers skincare tips, time of lapse of your progress, and reminds you of product expiration dates. It also has 5 lighting scenarios, magnifying options, and will even tell you the weather. I mean how. cool. is. that?
Jo Malone London Cologne Collection
I’m a fragrance gal. And while I tend to stick to a few core favorites, I love sampling new scents and brands in hopes of finding something else I love. Jo Malone’s fragrances are beautifully packaged, but on top of the sleek bottles, the scents are amazing. This particular collection contains 5 popular scents, making it the perfect gift.
Dyson Blown-A-OUAI Noir Set
Ok, I’ve never used this (because it’s $400 for a hairdryer), but I’ve heard amazing things. So if you’re made of money (you go, girl) or really want to treat someone, they’d probably love opening this gift. But why pay $399 for just the hair dryer when you can buy this set for the same price?
Nuface Rose Gold Mini Express Skin-Toning Collection
Nuface’s mini micro currant device works to tone and firm the neck, jawline, cheeks, eyebrows, and forehead. This limited edition set coats the device in a luxe rose gold and includes Prep-n-glow cloths, 24K Gold Gel Primer Firm, and gold painted clutch.
