As I said the other day, I’ve been in a creative rut for the past couple of weeks. It just sprung on me out of nowhere, but it hit me really hard. Now, instead of creating late fall content, all I want to do is talk about Christmas — which is a little out of character for me, but here we are. And when motivation to be productive strikes, you take it. So today we’re kicking off Christmas season.
I was trying to figure out a good way to kick off these gift guides, because I have a lot of ideas. I think I’ll group them by topic, but will probably focus heavily on lifestyle and beauty. If you want to see any other kinds of gift guides, please let me know. Because I’ll whip some up.
Today we’re starting with the perfect gifts for your homebody friends. Or, if you’re like me, the list I’ll be giving out this year. I think the gifts on this list are perfect essentials for a cozy evening in, a good self-care day, or simply when your recipient wants to feel luxe or snuggly.
Jade Roller
You all probably know by now how much I love my jade roller. Not only does it look beautiful on your bathroom counter, it has all sorts of skin benefits. And if you don’t fully buy into the claims of helping with fine lines and lymphatic drainage (nothing says Christmas like lymphatic drainage, you know), it’s incredibly cooling and can help with puffiness.
Silk Pillow Case + Eye Mask
I think this silk pillow case/eye mask duo would be a lovely gift to receive. There’s something about silk that just makes you feel fancy. Silk pillow cases can be good for your skin and hair, and the eye mask will ensure you get a sumptuous night of sleep.
Luxurious Bath Goodies
I don’t think you can go wrong with fancy bath products as gifts. Usually it’s something people don’t frequently buy for themselves and gives your hard working recipient an excuse to treat herself. The Fresh Fig Honey Bath from Laura Mercier is amazing. Firstly, it looks spa-worthy. But above all, it transforms the bath into an indulgent experience. The bubbles are thick and foamy and leave your skin feeling incredibly soft and hydrated. Paired with the Fresh Fig Souffle Body Creme, the skin feels nourished and smells amazing.
Vital Proteins Sampler Set
Pampering products are generally geared toward the outward body, but pampering yourself can happen within as well. I’ve raved about the Collagen Peptides from Vital Proteins, and they’ve come out with the most convenient sampler pack for the holidays. Their Collagen Creamers are an easy, delicious way to prevent and protect skin from the damaging effects of the season. Second to this, the creamers contain natural MCTs to help boost brain power and battle the effects of this seasonal slump. The Matcha packs a pow(der)ful antioxidant punch to boost immunity during winter! And don’t forget the Collagen Peptides, a perfect to-go companion for all your holiday travels! This set is on sale starting 11/14 on the Vital Proteins site.
Luscious Hand Soaps
Hand soaps are vastly underrated and something most folks don’t splurge on, which is why a luxury soap makes for a fantastic gift. Aesop’s scents are subtly divine, and the gel leaves your hands soft instead of dry. Plus, the minimalistic packaging design adds a nice touch to the sink.
Cozy Blankets
Have a homebody to buy for this year? I promise they’ll appreciate a coy blanket. I mean…who doesn’t? I’m currently loving these waffle weave blankets from West Elm. They’re comfy cozy and come in an array of snug colors.
Essential Oil Diffuser
Cool mist diffusers are a pretty safe gift. They’re easy to use. They’re also something you can’t reeeally have too many. Even if someone already has one, it’s something they can put in another room or area. I’m eyeing the stone diffuser from Vitruvi currently. Its sleek and simple design with complement any room.
Beautiful Candles
Who doesn’t look a good candle? I consider candles to be another gift people like receiving but maybe not buying for themselves. I like gifting candles in attractive jars so they can be repurposed later, like this one from Commodity.
Pretty + Useful Books
To me, books are a personal gift. When I receive one, it makes me feel like the giver put a lot of thought into it, especially when it really correlates with my tastes. You can choose a fiction or non-fiction type of book. Right now I’m loving Homebody by Joanna Gaines. Design books with beautiful pictures are great coffee table books, but this one is also full of great tips and tricks from the Fixer Upper Queen herself.
Mugs
Every homebody knows there’s magic in a mug full of your favorite warm beverage. These geometric mugs from Target’s Project 62 line are sure to be a hit.
Good Vibes Crystal Set
I love gifting curated crystal sets. You can choose from an array of stones and create your own set or buy something already thoughtfully put together — like sets for joy + happiness, luck, or new beginnings or specific to a zodiac sign. I’ve purchased a few sets from Love by Luna Co., and they’ve been well received!
And even if you don’t believe in the mystic powers of crystals, you can’t deny that they’re beautiful.
Cashmere Sweater
I call the next few gifts “the homebody uniform.” Days in require an ultra, comfy cozy wardrobe, and you cannot go wrong with a cashmere sweater. Personally, I like to gift luxury items when I can. Not because I want to over do it or show off my gift giving skills (which are good, I might add). I do this because I like to bring joy to people. Everlane’s cashmere sweaters are great. They’re pretty affordable for cashmere, ranging from $100-$150. They’re simply designed, and Everlane is a sustainable fashion brand.
Silk/Satin Robe
I know I like lounging around in my robe, but sometimes a heavy, fluffy robe is just a little too much and I get a little warm. Another luxe fabric I love is silk or satin. A lighter weight option would be perfect for someone living in a climate that doesn’t get too cold or someone who needs a little extra opulence in their life.
Warm Socks
Unless you’re some weirdo (kidding, kinda) who never wears socks, there’s nothing cozier than a warm pair of socks to keep your feet warm during the winter. I love cashmere, and I found these cashmere cable knit socks on Amazon. I’m sure they’ll be a crowd pleaser.
Bralettes
All of my fellow bra haters, please raise your hand. Ok, so getting lingerie seems a little weird to give as a gift, but hear me out. They pair so well under chunky sweaters and lounge wear. I love the seamless deep V bralette from Lively. It comes in a few neutral colors including a burnt orange and eggplant shade. This particular style is too “sexy” and is incredibly comfortable.
I hope you found this gift guide helpful.
