Another month, another Allure Beauty Box Unboxing. And this month, it’s all about opening up a little. While the world hasn’t recovered from Covid-19 yet, and I’m afraid of a second wave, I have been re-identifying what “normal” should like look. I’m not sure hunkering down for complete isolation was a necessarily great option. It’s stressful and the furthest thing from normal. So I’ve been opening up to small social gatherings, to-go food, and short travel (to ok areas.) And with that, I have been opting for a little more makeup. So let’s find out what is in this month’s Allure Beauty Box, shall we?
[ makeup ]
Wander Beauty Unlashed Mascara*: Months ago, I was introduced to the Wander Beauty Mile High mascara, and I seriously love that one. So I’m very excited to give this one a go. The Mile High, in my opinion, was a really naturally enhanced kind of mascara. It made my lashes long and dark and fluttery. This one looks like it may be a little more dramatic, which is perfect for wearing a mask all day. Can’t go bold with my lip; might as well go bold with my lashes.
e.l.f. Highlighting Brush*^: I love a good brush. I’m not sure if I’ll use it much for highlighting. It’s a little big and a little floppy. But I do think it may be a good one for powder or even blush.
^Your box will contain either the e.l.f. Highlighting Brush* OR the Nyx Pro Contour Brush*.
Cleo Noir Twist Up Eyeliner in Purple: Usually I go for a bold lip, but with a mask covering half of my face, I like the idea of accentuating the eye a little more. This purple liner surely will do the trick! I’m thinking it can be smudged across the lashline in a v messy kind of smokey wing?
Full size in box $18

La Roche Posay Anthelios 50 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid*: Just because the weather is cooling down doesn’t mean you forgo SPF. I have used this one from La Roche Posay before, and I really enjoy it. It’s lightweight and blends into the skin easily without being greasy. I also think this one really softens the skin, too.
Full size $33.50* ; Box value $3.35
Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm*: Another one I have tried and enjoy. I starts of as a solid-ish balm, and when worked into the skin, turns into a silky oil to remove makeup. Add a little water, and it turns into a milky cleanser, and you can see the makeup melting away. Rinse it of or wipe off with a warm cloth. I find this to be moisturizing on the skin. However, it is formulated with essential oils, which I don’t like. So if you’re sensitive to scent or essential oil, you may want to proceed with caution on this one.
Full size $64* ; Box value $12
Glam Up Revitalizing Japanese Sake Sheet Mask*^: This sheet mask combines aloe leaf with the namesake ingredient, sake to brighten the skin and fade dark spots.
Full size $9.98 for 10* ; Box value $1 (for 1)
^Your box will contain either the Glam Up Soothing Aloe* OR Revitalizing Japanese Sake Sheet Mask*.

Water L<ss Dry Conditioner*: I haven’t ever used a dry conditioner before, so I am intrigued. This is supposed to be a dry shampoo/dry conditioner hybrid. So I imagine it’s going to absorb oil and hydrate the actual hair shaft. We will see.
[ Box Total: $67.35 ]

In conclusion: I’m not going to lie, I’m not the most jazzed about this box. Though I am excited to have the Elemis cleaning balm and La Roche Posay SPF again. The brush is ok; the waterless conditioner is ok; and the liner is just so so. What do you think of this month’s box?
