Another month, another beauty box unboxing. I was really excited to receive my boxes this month, because they both were collaborations with other companies/people I enjoy. Allure teamed up with Kat Von D for their beauty box, and Facetory had help curating their boxes from the fashion/beauty editorial team at Bustle.
For a cost breakdown and description of each box, please refer to this post. And keep reading for my June beauty box unboxing (:
DISCLAIMER: Please excuse my shoddy editing job. It just was one of those day, you know?
Allure Beauty Box
The Goods:
- Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner in ‘Lolita:’ Lip liners are great for adding a dimensional effect to a lip look or using alone for a wash of color. But a lot of liners can be a little drying–not this one. It has a velvety texture so you can fill in your lips without drying them out extensively. I love the ‘Lolita’ color from Kat, because it’s a rosy brown and pairs well with almost every darker nude/brown lipstick I own. I also love wearing it alone. $18, sephora.com (The box contains a full size liner)
- Kat Von D Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick in ‘Double Dare:’ I’m not a stranger to the Studded Kiss lipsticks from this brand, and I was excited to get another. This dusty rose shade is a great every day lip color with a satin-matte finish. It’s comfortable on the lips and doesn’t sink into any lines you may have on your lips. $19, sephora.com
- Ole Henriksen Transforming Walnut Scrub: Upon opening this, my mind immediately flashed to my dreaded St. Ives Apricot Scrub and it’s jagged exfoliating pieces. I don’t recommend that. However, after researching and using this a few times, I would highly recommend this scrub. The walnut pieces are ground into a fine power that spreads smoothly onto the skin without irritating it. This will make your skin feel soft and smooth thanks to the aloe and glycerin. $28, sephora.com (The box contains a full size scrub.)
- Kat Von D Travel Mirror: Not a lot to say about this one. It’s a mirror, and it’s a travel-friendly size. The interesting shape was inspired by wax seals on old-school letters. It’s large enough to see your whole face, but small enough to keep in a clutch bag. $18, katvondbeauty.com (Product is full size.)
The Other:
They also listed a Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, but I didn’t receive that in my box. Sometimes they will indicate in the magazine if it’s an either/or kind of product, but I didn’t see a note in this one. I contacted customer service, and have yet to hear back.
UPDATE 6/27:
After contacting Allure about the possible missing item, they responded saying I was, in fact, supposed to receive the full-size tattoo liner. They are shipping one out to me.
