Last week I spoke about some of the holiday launches I’m really tempted by. There are quite a few collections and products I’m seriously considering. And truthfully, the list was a lot longer initially. Then I took a step back and really looked at the products and my own collection and ultimately decided I just don’t need some of this stuff. (I mean, I don’t need any of it, really.) In today’s anti-haul we’re talking about some of the products I wanted but changed my mind about.
Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse Mini Gloss Bomb Set
One of my most reached for lip products is Fenty Beauty’s Universal Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow. It’s a comfortable formula. The combination of glossy and opacity is perfect. And the rose nude shade is beautiful, especially on no makeup days. So when I saw they were coming out with a mini set for the holidays, I immediately put it in my mind as something I’d purchase.
The Glossy Posse set consists of 5 Gloss Bomb minis featuring FU$$Y (shimmering pink) and 4 brand new shades. There’s a shimmering iridescent opal, rich brown, bright red-orange, and a fuchsia. And the set sells for $42.
The price doesn’t bother me. I don’t use up lip products often, so I like minis. And the colors look beautiful. I just decided that I really only want that orange. And to me, that doesn’t justify buying the whole set.

Pat McGrath Labs Blitz Astral Quad Eye Shadow Palette
I’ve yet to bite the bullet and purchase a Pat McGrath palette. They’re so dang expensive, so I want to be truly in love with the one I go for. When she released these Blitz Astral quads for $65, I was a little tempted. Still pricey as hell, but beautiful and not as expensive of the larger palettes.
The two quads I was eyeing are Nocturnal Nirvana (golds and purples, blues and greens) and Ritualistic Rose (roses, bronzes, and golds). And goodness gracious…they are beautiful. The finishes range from metallic to high shine to shimmer for a dazzling eye look.
But the more I look at these quads, and as much as I think they are gorgeous, I think I just like looking at them. I’m learning that sometimes I buy eye shadow palettes because I love the colors and the color story, not necessarily love them to wear.
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Mini Lip Set
I saw. I added to my Loves list. I eventually changed my mind.
Charlotte Tilbury is another brand I want to try but haven’t gotten myself to do it yet. I saw this mini lip set and was taken in by the pretty packaging and $25 price point. So I added it to my Loves list and 100% planned on purchasing it.
The set contains 3 of the best selling Hot Lips 2 lipsticks (JK Magic, pink kissed nude; Amazing Amal, warm berry pink; and Viva La Vergara, soft wine) in limited edition packaging.
But then I looked at it more. And I don’t really want any of these colors. Instead of spending $25 on 3 minis I’m not in love with, I’d rather just spend the extra money on the full size shades I do want. I’ll get more use that way.
Natasha Denona Mini Gold Eye Shadow Palette
Let me preface, I’ve been back and forth on this one since I saw it launched. And I’m still not 100% sure I won’t pick it up.
Natasha Denona came out with a limited edition Mini Gold palette for the holidays. For $25, you get 5 shadows featuring gold and green hues in matte, shimmer, and duo chrome shades. And you guys, it’s really pretty. It’s pretty in the pan, but the swatches get me every time.
Sometimes I think I won’t wear these shades. That I’m not a huge green wearer, and it’ll just sit in my drawer and collect dust. But sometimes I think the shades are wearable and interesting and something I would reach for.
Do I need it? No. Not at all.
Lorac x Rachel Zoe Hollywood Glamour Mini Palette: Golden Eyes
The last palette I initially wanted but changed my mind about and added to this anti-haul is the Golden Eyes Mini palette from Lorac’s collaboration with Rachel Zoe.
I love her and her boho glam style. Her makeup is usually smokey but in a wearable way. And I’ve been a fan for years. I also like the Lorac formula. The Golden Eyes mini contains a beautiful emerald, dazzling teal, and an array of bronzes, golds, and champagnes in a diamond shine finish. And the packaging is so cute–a glam zebra print. Because it’s so inexpensive, at only $15, I’m so tempted.
I just don’t need it. And I’m not going to buy it.
Not every anti-haul is talking about stupid product launches, though that is fun. Sometimes the best anti-haul posts, in my opinion, are the ones that talk about products you may want but decide you ultimately don’t need. What is on your holiday anti-haul list?
