Last month’s Allure Beauty Box was all about rejuvenation and energy, chalk full of caffeinated beauty products. This month is about the daintier side of spring with pretty pink, fresh, and light pick-me-up products. We get to play with a shimmery pink highlight, a watermelon-scented radiant primer, and one of my favorite SPF products. Let’s dig into the April 2022 Allure Beauty Box Unboxing!

Saint Luxe Rose Gold Liquid Glow: I tend to love cream/liquid highlights, because they have a tendency to look a little more natural on the skin as they tend to mesh into it differently than powders. This one falls into that. It’s lightweight and blends seamlessly. And while the pink shade is pretty intense right out of the bottle, it sheers out significantly once blended onto the skin. I’m excited to use this through the spring season. (Full size in box $24)
Uve Violet Antimicrobial Blender*: One of my favorite beauty tools is a beauty sponge to apply complexion products. My go-to is the original from Real Techniques*, but I’m always down for trying a new brand. The claim to fame for this little violet sponge is its velvety feel. (Full size in box $19.99)
The Beauty Crop Melon Jelly Dewy Primer XXL*: Primers come in a lot of shapes and sizes, all geared at different skin issues, finishes, and effects. But this one is all about the dewy radiance. It’s a watery primer that feels so light and elegant on the skin, it’s like you aren’t wearing anything at all. And once blended out, it gives the skin a natural glowy effect that is perfect for spring and summer.
It has an intense watermelon scent, but it doesn’t linger once it’s blended out on the skin. I haven’t tried it out on my face yet to know how makeup wears over it, but it definitely felt good on the back of my hand. Additionally, it had a little bit of grip, so I am thinking makeup will adhere to it at the very least, thus (hopefully) prolonging the wear. (Full size in box $22)

Osea Essential Hydrating Oil*: Super dry skin girl, here! And I love a good, hydrating oil. Osea is a brand I’m not super familiar with, but am always intrigued by. This oil* is formulated with a hydrating, calming blend of oils – including jojoba seed for moisturizing and geranium for soothing. It seems to absorb into the skin quickly, which is something I look for in an oil, and is able to be pressed onto the lips as well. (Full size in box $68 for 1 oz.)
Elta MD UV Sheer Broad-Spectrum SPF 50+*: We aren’t strangers to SPF at The Lipstick Narratives, and this one from Elta MD* is one of my absolute favorites. It offers a pretty high SPF protection with a blend of mineral and chemical filters. But it doesn’t look or feel sunscreen-y. It’s enhanced with vitamin C for brightening and hyaluronic acid to keep skin moisturized. (Box value $18)

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo*: As someone who washes her hair twice a week max., I’m a firm believer in dry shampoo. The Perk Up dry shampoo* from Amika has been a long-time favorite of mine. It adds a little volume back to lifeless hair while absorbing excess oil, leaving hair looking refreshed. And it smells so good. (Box value $4)

Scratch Nail Wraps*^: Admittedly, this is the product I probably won’t get much use out of. I don’t love nail wraps, personally. But if you do, Scratch may be your new favorite. Scratch releases nail art stickers monthly, and the designs seem to be trendy and pretty cute. The wraps are made from thing, flexible material that makes them quick and easy to apply. (Full size in box $18 each month for a kit)
^Designs may vary.
Total Box Value: ~$174
