I know I’m not alone, but even with a large makeup collection, I still feel like I need the new new new. However, like March, I rediscovered some favorite products within my current collection in April. And many of these favorite products have become fast favorites (again). So let’s jump straight into my April beauty favorites!
lip favorites
Lancome Prismatic Plump Lip Gloss in Effervescent
I received this gloss from Lancome sometime in 2018, and I just kind of tossed it aside. It came in a box with a bunch of skincare that I was more interested in at the time, but I’ve been into this gloss.
The color is so cool. It’s kind of a clear gloss jam packed with duochromatic purple glitters. It looks amazing on the lips and adds the coolest purple/blue shift to the lips. Perfect for a subtle statement. The formula is also really good. It’s a little heavy but not at all thick or sticky.
As for it’s plumping power, I don’t know. I feel the gloss leaves your lips with a cooling sensation, but I don’t particularly notice a plumping effect.
I can’t seem to find this exact shade in stock anywhere, so I’m afraid they may have discontinued it. But you can find other shades on Lancome’s website.
Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow
Fenty is a brand I really want to delve into in 2019, so I started with a small highlight/lipgloss duo. And guys…this gloss hasn’t left my purse since. I have the shade Fenty Glow, which is a shimmery rose nude. Honestly, I feel like it’s my lip color but a little more saturated and glittery. It’s the perfect gloss to sweep on with no other makeup but it’s pigmented enough to wear with a full face of makeup as well.
Maybelline Shine Compulsion Lipstick in Baddest Beige
As you know, I’m obsessed with the Marc Jacobs gloss sticks and since those have come out, I’ve been on the hunt for similar but less expensive glossy stick options. I don’t think these are dupes; they aren’t the same, but they are very good in their own way.
In comparison to the MJ sticks, the Shine Compulsion lipsticks from Maybelline are more opaque; however, they do offer the same amount of intense shine. Baddest Beige is such a great color to keep in your bag and swipe over the lips throughout the day if a lipstick gets drying or you just want a little something on the lip.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette
I’ve spoken about this palette a lot in the past and have a full review here, but I haven’t been able to stop using it in April! Every time I’ve traveled this month, this is the palette I have taken.
It’s an extremely versatile palette in my opinion. I can get brighter purple/pink looks, but I can also create neutral, everyday looks with no problem. And the quality of ABH shadows is incredible. The shimmers don’t fall, and the shadows don’t fade!
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Sand Dune
This is another product I’ve had in my drawer for a while but haven’t used much…until now. It’s such an easy product. The color Sand Dune is a medium beige, and the formula of these is matter (they have shimmers) and long lasting. They wear really well. I use Sand Dune as an all over eye color when I don’t really want to put any makeup on, but I want to look better than I do at the time. You know?

Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Chantilly
I did not like this at first, but now I nearly use it everyday. When I first got this, I was using it all over the face — for blemishes and under the eye. And it didn’t go well. Blending this out under the eye made the area look crepe-y and dry. Now I only use this on my face for blemishes, and I like it for that purpose! This concealer covers blemishes well, is easy to blend out, and lasts all day. I wish it was in a different container–the pot can get messy–but you can’t have it all.
Benefit Watt’s Up Highlight
I literally just talked about how bored I am with Benefit, but I used this almost everyday in April. I love their Watt’s Up highlight. If you aren’t familiar, it’s a champagne colored cream highlighter that is a cream to powder formula. What I really love about this is that I can use it anywhere and anytime. It looks lovely applied beneath makeup, over powder makeup, on the inner corner, brow bone, all of it!
And the color is perfection for my skintone. The lasting power isn’t spectacular, but that may also be because mine is pretty old. I definitely would recommend this for summer!

Keihl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate
My skin is freaking out! You’d think it’d be getting a little oily now that the weather is getting hotter, but my skin is drier and more dehydrated than ever. So recently I went through my skincare inventory and brought this oil from Keihl’s back out, and I’m glad I did.
Since using this every AM, I’ve noticed my nose is flaking less and my forehead feels less tight. It also gives your skin an amazing glow that simply looks healthy. This oil is pretty lightweight, so it’s nice to wear beneath makeup.
Thanks for checking out of my April beauty favorites. What were you loving in April?
