A few weeks back I posted my current AM skincare regimen, and I wanted to follow up with my evening skincare routine. I highly suggest an AM roundup including cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and sun protection. But in my opinion, you should be heavily focused on your evening skincare routine. Your skin cells do most of their regeneration at night while we’re sleeping. For that reason, I like to slather myself in delicious ingredients so I can wake up to glowy and healthy looking skin.
While I am in the process of using up a lot of the products in my cabinet and plan on switching up my skincare a bit, these are what I’m using in my evening skincare routine.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
I use this cleanser in the morning as well, so I’m not going to harp too long about it. The Soy Face Cleanser is amazing at removing makeup and dirt from my face while keeping my skin soft and hydrated. It leaves my skin smooth and clean. And it smells like cucumber and rose, which is immensely relaxing at night.
L’ancome Advanced Genefique Youth Activating Serum
I am currently using a lot of products in the AM and PM, including this serum from L’ancome. I smooth this onto my face and neck after cleansing, and the self-loading dropper gives me the perfect dose every time. My skin feels smooth, hydrated, and appears more radiant after application. I’ve noticed my skin tone evening out as well. It’s a little pricey, but I do love this stuff!
Olay Pro-Retinol Eye Treatment
I’ve actually gotten comments on my lack of fine lines surrounding my eyes. I chalk it up to not showing expression, wearing sunglasses all the time, and eye creams. Honestly, I’ve never once found an eye cream product that wows me. I like some, I don’t like others, but I wouldn’t say I love anything. This is nice.
Retinol is a wrinkle-fighting ingredient in skincare, so putting it in an eye cream is great for fighting crow’s feet and other wrinkles around the eye. Not only does the Pro-Retinol increase the rate of surface cell turnover (that’s what reduces the appearance of wrinkles), this also feel hydrated on the skin.
Sunday Riley C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum
I received this (full sized, btw) product in an Allure Beauty Box recently, and was immediately excited to try it. My skin loves vitamin C. I swear by the Ole Henrikson Truth Serum, and since this also featured vitamin C, I figured my skin would like it as well. It did and does.
C.E.O. Rapid Flash is fast-absorbing and fights the look of dullness, dark spots, and discoloration while increasing brightness and radiance. It instantly makes my skin look luminous and feel plump and moisturized. Does it work for anti-aging? I don’t know. I have a hard time judging anti-aging products at 24. I’m not sure I have a lot to anti-age yet. But I do love the way this makes my skin look, feel, and it smells citrusy and amazing.
Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream
This is the best moisturizer I’ve used in a long time. The Water Bank Moisture Cream is formulated with Laneige’s patented Hydro lonized Mineral Water that fuses essential minerals zinc, potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, and sodium. Which basically means you’re getting a cream to replenish and retain hydration levels, prevent future moisture loss and relieve dryness.
The formula is thick feeling, but once on the skin feels lightweight. It smells spa-like and leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. It feels luxurious, but it isn’t as expensive as some other moisture creams I’ve tried.
I generally use this at night, but it also wears well under makeup.
