For some reason, I’m feeling extra trendy and stylish recently. Generally I’m really conservative and classic in my taste, but I’ve been venturing out of comfort and color zone and trying new styles. Here are my 9 must haves for spring fashion.
- Chambray
I’m obsessed with this fabric this season. It’s generally lightweight which is nice for warmer weather. I also think it can be dressed up or worn casually. I’ve been pairing a chambray button down with dress pants or skirts for work and a dark wash jean with sneakers for a casual look.
- Graphic Prints
The skirt above, in particular, is one I’ve been eyeing–florals for spring, I know. But I love large, modern, graphic prints right now. They definitely add something unexpected to the look and adds contrast to otherwise dull color palettes.
- Strappy Cognac Sandals
I have a black pair of strappy sandals with about a 2″ heel, and I have worn them out, so I need to replace them but also add a pair of cognac to my closet. The color goes with almost anything, and screams spring.
- Linen Pants
Another light weight piece that can be worn dressed up or down. I imagine pairing these with heels and a loose fitting blouse for work or rolling up the legs and pairing them with sneakers and a t-shirt for casual days.
- Lingerie as Street Wear
This is a trend that is a little out of my element, but I really want to try. I think it’s sexy without being too obvious. Since I currently work at a men’s clothing store, if I chose to sport this trend at work, I’d probably wear a silk camisole under a blazer with tapered dress pants and heels. But I’d definitely sport the ’90s chic slip dress for a night out.
- White “mom” shorts
No offense moms of the 1990s, but you have a type of shorts. But I want them. If I described my style, it’d be that of a mom of the ’90s. I can imagine so many looks revolving around loose fitting white shorts.
- Tassel Heels
These are just cool. And I can picture them with a simple outfit like shorts and a t-shirt to add a pop of color and intrigue or paired with a dress for an evening event.
- Overalls
I don’t get to be casual too often due to my dress code at work, but I want to spend all of my days off roaming around in overalls. Picture it: overalls, a classic Calvin Klein t-shirt, and Chucks. I’m telling you, ’90s mom.
- White, Ruffled Top
And finally, straying away from the casual cool pieces, I am searching for a white ruffled top. Not too ’70s-esque, but really girly and feminine. I can see this style of top paired with so many things from distressed jeans to a really structured skirt.
What pieces are you searching for to add to your spring collection? And keep an eye out for my spring beauty must haves.
