At this point, most of us have been working from home for nearly a year. And I don’t know about you, but I have gone through many phases during this year long quarantine. I initially started out indulging in being able to wake up later and wearing less makeup. The second phase was a little more experimental. I had some extra time for makeup playtime, and I used it. I’m currently in the third phase — pure indulgence. I opt for quick makeup but luxurious treats like skincare and hair treatments. And luckily the February Allure Beauty Box is full of small indulgences. From fancy skincare to a hero hair product, let’s dive into this February Allure Beauty Box Unboxing. Shall we?
If you’d like to sign up for the Allure Beauty Box, feel free to use my referral code here. If not, that’s ok. Google it. Floss Lip Advocate in Your Honor: If you’ve been around, you know how much I love the My New Favorite Lip Gloss formula from Floss, and I’m always excited to receive more product to try from the brand. This Lip Advocate product is a very sheer type of balmy product. The Shade In Your Honor is a very rosy pink, and honestly it’s quite similar to the natural shade of my lips. So I don’t notice it as much on the lip as I do a swatch on the hand, but I don’t think I mind. It does feel hydrating on the lip, but I want to wear it a little more before I decide. (Full size in box, $18)

U Beauty Resurfacing Compound*: Knowing that this moisturizing/exfoliating/brightening hybrid has sold out on multiple occasions intrigues the hell out of me. This serum* from U Beauty has brightening and smoothing ingredients like vitamin C, AHAs, and retinol and combines them with clarifying witch hazel and hydrating vitamin E. I will definitely be integrating this product into my routine and will report back next month. (Full size in box, $148*)
Madeca Derma Revitalizing Mask*: Due to a combination of hormones, it being winter, and not leaving my house for days at a time, my skin is dry. Not just dry, it’s dryer than ever. I’m talking flaking off dry. Needless to say, I am constantly on the hunt for hydrating and moisturizing products. This is one of the times I appreciate having a sheet mask or two on hand, because they usually are good for a solid shot of hydration. This one from Madeca Derma* is drenched in standout ingredients like allantoin and centella asiatica (Tiger grass,) which I have gotten along quite well with in the past. (Full size, $19.99* for 10 ; Box value, $2)
La Roche Posay Anthelios Melt-In Milk Sunscreen SPF 100*: Just because you’re spending time indoors doesn’t mean you forgo SPF. I mean it. This formula* is so lightweight that it really does melt into the skin. Since it’s non-irritating, it’s going to work for most skin types. It’s silky, fragrance free, and infused with moisturizing agents that make it feel comfortable on the skin. It’s also one that I’ve noticed works pretty well on deep skin tones as well, which is hard to find in a mineral sunscreen. (Full size, $24.99* ; Box value, $1.40)
Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask*^: Sisley is one of those brands that I have had my eye on, but it’s just so expensive that I’ve been weary to purchase anything. Are those price tags really worth it? I don’t know. But we’re going to find out. This black rose cream mask* is supposed to be insanely fancy and hydrating and can be used as a leave on or wash off mask. I will definitely be integrating this into my night time skincare routine to see if it’s worth that $166 price tag. (Full size, $166* ; Box value, $28)
^Your box will contain either the Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask* or L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream*.

Christophe Robin Daily Hair Cream*: I have been on a hair journey, and I’m finally comfortable enough to start integrating new product into my routine. I’m still experiencing hair loss, but I think we have found the root of the problem. Subsequently, I have been air drying my hair significantly more, and this hair cream* might be a new hero product (based on reviews. I still need to try it.) It’s a silicone-free, leave-in product that’s supposed to be hydrating and smoothing and help hair to air dry without frizz. The beauty director for Allure says her favorite way to use this is on freshly air dried hair. So I look forward to playing around with this one.
I have used the scalp scrub from Christophe Robin before, and I really enjoyed it. Plus the sandalwood in this product smells amazing. (Full size in box, $43*)
[ Box Total: $240.40 ]
Whew! This box is full of expensive little luxuries, isn’t it? I’m extremely excited for the U Beauty Resurfacing Compound* and Sisley mask*. But boy are those high ticket items! I’ll definitely report back with my feelings on that. I’m also excited about everything else in this month’s box. Granted there has only been 2 thus far, this is holding the top spot of the year.
