3 Easy Ways to Wear Neon Makeup in the Fall

Neon makeup was HUGE over the summer. Thanks to Instagram gals, neons were everywhere — from accessories to lipsticks to eye shadows. But now that summer is coming to an end, it’s time to put our brights away…or is it? Today we’re talking about 3 easy ways to wear neon makeup in the fall.

Like wearing white after Labor Day or mixing navy and blue, the notion we shouldn’t wear bright colors after summer is totally bogus. After all, there are no rules in makeup. Just because the weather is a bit dreary doesn’t mean your makeup has to be. No matter how subtle or bold you like to go with bright makeup, here are some easy ways to wear neon makeup all fall long.

Color Swap

When I think summer neon, I think vibrant pinks, vivid green, and highlighter yellow. While you totally can rock these hues all autumn, a more subtle way to incorporate neons is by swapping out the summer shades for something a little more mellow like blues and oranges.

One of my favorite and easy ways to wear a neon is in your eyeliner. Try using a bold orange wing paired with rich, warm browns on the lid. And a juicy and glossy nude lip.

Another option would be a cool, electric blue all over the lid. It’s statement making but also simple.

Neon Nails

When I’m nervous to try a bold trend on my face or in my clothes, I try it on my nails. It’s such a small way to make an impact, but a fun one!

Soft Focus

While you can apply a bold neon anytime of the year, there’s something sweet about a blurred lip. Try dabbing a neon product on the lips with your finger. It’ll diffuse the color but still give you wash of neon.
