One of Jouer’s best selling products is their Blush Bouquet blush duos — which I have and love. So I was really excited when Jouer launched a six pan blush palette at the beginning of the year. I recently picked up this palette during Sephora’s VIB sale event, and have been using it everyday since. So let’s hop into this Jouer Bouquet D’Amour Blush Palette review.
the basics
The Bouquet D’Amour Blush Palette from Jouer is a pressed-powder blush palette with velvety-smooth powders that deliver full-pigment color and blend to a perfect finish.
This limited edition blush palette, $42, contains six pressed powders that combine matte and shimmer shades, as well as warm and cool tones.
Some other facts about the formula — it’s vegan, cruelty, and gluten free.
the cost
Let’s break down the cost. The Bouquet D’Amour blush palette retails for $42, which honestly isn’t too bad for a six pan palette. That breaks down to only $7 per pan / blush.
the shade selection
One of the things that excited me most about this palette was the shade selection. I think the array of colors is beautiful, and it pretty much gives you everything you need in one compact palette.
The Bouquet D’Amour blush palette is a combination of matter and shimmer shade with both warm and cool tones. While it contains four existing shades, two shades are new to the palette.
- Treasure Me – shimmering, warm, bronze tangerine
- *Marigold – shimmering, warm golden peach
- Know Me – shimmering, cool soft pink
- *Adore Me – matte, warm dusty peach
- *Kiss Me – matte, warm, carnation pink
- *Seduce Me – matte, cool berry pink
*existing shades
the packaging
The unit packaging is made of a cardboard material, but truly is beautiful. It’s a creamy peach color covered in embossed, gold, and delicate designs of dragonflies, flowers, birds, and vines.
The inside of the palette houses a large mirror and six, square blush pans. You’ll also find the Jouer logo imprinted in the center of each pan.
Overall, it’s a well thought out and detailed palette that really fits in with the pretty in pink and gold of Jouer branding.
the forumla + review
The formula truly is velvety smooth in comparison to some other blush formulas and are wonderfully pigmented. I was most intimidated by Treasure Me (tangerine) and Kiss Me (bright pink), but applying them wasn’t difficult — they’re pigmented but wearable. I don’t find these blushes emphasize any texture on the skin while leaving cheeks with color and soft sheen.
As I said, I’m familiar with the Jouer blush formula. I have the blush duo in Adore Me, and that’s the perfect everyday blush combo for me. They last long on the face, blend seamlessly, and are very pretty.
I do have a complaint — that isn’t really a negative of the palette, but just a callout I’ve noticed.
The packaging is pretty, but I was a little disappointed it wasn’t the same as the smaller duos. Those Blush Bouquet duos are housed in a luxe plastic packaging that’s a glossy finish, trimmed with gold. It feels a lot more expensive in comparison to the cardboard of the Bouquer D’Amour palette. But then again, that packaging probably costs more.
A complaint I have heard but don’t share is that out of the six shades, four are already existing. I don’t think this is a problem. They exist in duos that cost $30 each. If you wanted a few of those colors, it’d cost tremendously more than this palette does.
the bottom line:
I’d recommend the Bouquet D’Amour blush palette.
While I recommend this due to the formula and shade variety, I don’t think this is for everyone. For example, I know I probably won’t reach for this a ton because I prefer single blushes. I didn’t realize this until I got this palette; it’s my first blush palette. If you are similar, maybe pass.
But if you don’t have a lot of blush and want to expand your collection, this is a great way to do do it.
