I know it’s not even Halloween, but in beauty, holiday season is among us, meaning companies are going to start putting out their holiday palettes and value sets. I won’t buy all of them. Shoot, I won’t even buy 3/4 of them. But I definitely like a good deal. And since they’re going to be limited edition, I want to review them as I receive them so you can make up your minds about them before they sell out.
Every year, for the past 3, Lorac has put out a Mega Pro palette, which is double the size of their normal Pros and can be found at Ulta.
Lorac shadows are some of my favorites. The original Pro palette is my go-to right next to the Urban Decay Naked. They’re creamy and smooth. If you dip your finger into one of them, you’ll know what I mean. They apply to the eye like butter. They’re so good. And unlike some holiday sets that change factories or formulas when produced which alters the product, the Lorac shadows in this Mega palette are consistent with their permanent line product.
This group of colors seems very fall to me, which is appropriate. There are definitely more warm shades, but there are a few cooler tones to add diversity. Speaking of which, you can create all sorts of looks from this. There are shades for smokey eyes, every day, and that pomegranate shade is what sold me. I love the pop of pink.
If you haven’t owned a Lorac Pro palette, the set up is nice. You have one row of 8 matte shades on top and a row of 8 shimmery shades on bottom. And following suit with their Pro palettes, you’ll have 2 rows of matte shades and 2 rows of shimmery shades.
So let’s swatch.

Now, you’ve heard my praises on this. But there are some downsides. It’s $59, which is a lot of money. Aside from the pomegranate shade and a few others, I have this palette. Maybe not all together like this, but the colors aren’t super original. The biggest disappointment for me was the olive shade. It’s a lot more brown and a lot less green than I would have wanted. So if you have a lot of neutral shadows and palettes already, I’d probably pass on this, if the price was a hindrance.
If you’re here simply to see whether or not this is a good palette full of quality shadows, then yes. It definitely, 100% is.
This palette is sold out on Ulta’s website, but if you can find it in your local store, I would pick it up. If not, I’d also check out their other limited edition blush and lip sets, because they’re really good, too.
I hope this helped. And if you do purchase this palette, tag me in photos on Instagram @jacqie__ . I’d love to see the looks you create!
