With new products being released weekly, I find it challenging to actually use a product in its entirety. But I have been trying really hard to use up my products instead of letting them sit and expire. However, I actually have a ton of makeup empties this month!
Since we’re in the process of moving, I don’t have time to photograph and record clips of everything I’ve used up this month. And I really don’t want to bring trash to the new house — we already have too much unnecessary stuff! So instead, I’m going to highlight the handful of makeup empties I actually plan on repurchasing!
Coola Mineral Sun Silk Crème SPF 30
I was sent the Mineral Sun Silk Crème from Coola and Influenster a few months ago, and I’m really glad I was able to try this product. I like Coola SPF. My skin gets along with it, and I feel it does a really good job.
As the name suggests, it’s a mineral sunscreen with non-nano zinc oxide as the standout ingredient. Do I wish the SPF count was a bit higher? Yes, but it’s fine. Aside from protection from UVA/UVB rays from the sun, the Mineral Sun Silk Crème also protects against digital light and pollution.
Even if you’re someone who claims sunscreen makes your skin feel oily, I think this one will work for you. It’s incredibly lightweight, fragrance free, and plays well beneath makeup without pilling. It also leaves your skin feeling smooth. I wouldn’t use this in lieu of a moisturizer, but it does add an extra layer of moisture.
bareMinerals Complexion Rescue
Ya’ll know how much I love the Complexion Rescue from bareMinerals. I’ve gone through multiple bottles of this, and it’s time to replenish yet again. If you’re new around here, Complexion Rescue is a tinted moisturizer with a broad spectrum SPF 30. I use the lightest shade, Opal 01.
It’s a lightweight tinted moisturizer that combines hydrating skincare benefits with a natural and comfortable base. You get a sheer to light coverage and a naturally radiant finish. I love mixing this with a luminizing product like Becca’s First Light Priming Filter for a glowy base look.
While Complexion Rescue is oil free, I don’t that you’ll love this if you have really oily skin. But if you’re dry to normal, even combo, you’ll love it. I’m sure of it!
Perricone MD No Lipstick Lipstick
I’ve actually used up quite a few products from Perricone MD recently. There are a ton of products I love from the brand and want to repurchase, but the No Lipstick Lipstick is a priority. The color is a rosy pink with a pretty sheen, and the formula is incredibly hydrating and comfortable. There’s also an SPF of 15, which is nice for when you’re out and about.
I don’t notice it accentuating lines in my lips or sliding out of the lip line. It’s the lipstick I go to when I am wearing a very light face of makeup or no makeup at all but still want something on the lip.
Makeup Revolution Fast Base Concealer
I haven’t heard anyone talk about the Fast Base Concealer from Makeup Revolution, and I have no idea why! It’s so good. I actually just used the last of mine this morning (the day I’m writing this).
I’ve previously compared this to the Touche Eclat brightening pen from YSL; and I still hold onto that comparison. I use the shade C1 but think I could get away with the lightest shade, C0.5 a little better (but it’s only available online).
It’s a lightweight concealer that highlights and brightens in one go. Does it cover intense blemishes? No. Not at all. Well…a little bit, but if you don’t like your blemishes to show through at all, I wouldn’t use this for that purpose. How I prefer to use this is under the eye and to highlight the face and cover small bouts of redness or discoloration.
Ilia Limitless Mascara
I don’t know if I’d say the Limitless mascara replaces the Hourglass Caution mascara as my holy grail, but it’s definitely creeping up there. It’s buildable and comfortable, and it leaves your lashes lifted, lengthened, curled, and full of volume. It doesn’t leave your lashes crunchy but soft and fluttery instead.
Another bonus is that it’s gluten free (as is the Hourglass but a lot of mascaras don’t specify a GF status). If you didn’t know I’m gluten free due to my body not wanting to process it (aka I have Celiac disease), and I should be trying to use GF beauty products. I’m working on it.
