I’ve been trying to make a dent in my extensive beauty stash since moving into the new house as well as generally streamlining my skincare routine. That includes using the products I already own and trying to limit the products I bring in. Instead of a traditional makeup empties post, I wanted to touch on a few beauty products I’ve finished and what I’m putting into my rotation in their place.
Product I Used Up: Blithe Apricot Pressed Serum
For a while, I was testing out K-beauty brands for a full 10-step Korean skincare routine. I introduced this pressed serum from Blithe in hopes of brightening my skin and adding moisture.
I actually really enjoyed this! The pressed consistency kept the serum from being messy. It started out as an almost solid form that melted down to a serum but wasn’t sticky. I’d press this into my skin and work it onto my neck and chest. My skin was left intensely hydrated and glowy.
What I’m Swapping In: Fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Juice Antioxidant Face Serum
After perusing Sephora’s website, I stumbled across this new (?) serum from Fresh. I’ve used the Vitamin Nectar face mask previously and thought it was just OK. But I was intrigued by this product description. It’s supposed to deliver nutrition to give your skin an energized, healthy glow and hydrate the skin.
This is the only product I’m buying to replace an empty. I went through my whole collection, and I don’t have a single serum — not even a foil pack!
Product I’ve Used Up: Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder
This is like the gift that kept giving. I love this powder. It sets my makeup and keeps it in place all day, is great to bake with, adds the slightest bit of coverage. But boy, this powder took forever to finish up.
But I’ve finally done it!
What I’m Swapping In: Maybelline Fit Me Finishing Powder + Laura Mercier Transluscent Loose Setting Powder
I have two powders on hand I’m subbing in. First, the Maybelline Fit Me powder. Personally, I like this to set my under eyes. But technically, it’s a finishing powder. It’s soft and glides on the skin,
Second, I’m trying out the famous setting powder from Laura Mercier. I’ve actually never tried this cult classic! However, I received it in a recent Allure Beauty Box, and I’m excited to see what the hype is about.
Product I’ve Used Up: Laneige Water Bank eye Gel
I generally have a lot of makeup empties, but I have a ton of skincare this go around. This eye cream from Laneige is something else that took forever to get through. Generally, you use such a small amount of eye cream at a time, and this jar was HUGE.
I liked this product. It’s a lightweight, gel consistency. And the smell is fresh and soothing. However, I found it wasn’t enough for my under eyes. I’m quite dry there, so I needed something a little creamier.
What I’m Swapping In: First Aid Beauty 5-in-1 Eye Cream
Honestly, I don’t see a ton of results when I use an eye cream. So I haven’t found any I’m a slave over. Basically all I look for these day is something that doesn’t disrupt makeup, feels hydrating enough, and generally makes my under eyes look good.
I had this eye cream from FAB in my back up drawer, so I’m going to give it a go. It seems to be a pretty straight forward product that will smooth and hydrate the area.
I won’t lie, I’ve loved finished up products and being able to feel like I’m not letting them go to waste. These are the makeup empties for this month, and hopefully I can continue to make a dent in my overflowing collection. My goal is to streamline everything and only have products I absolutely can’t live without.
