Who doesn’t wish they could walk into a SEPHORA and go wild? I know. It’s a fantasy. But the reality is your girl is on a hard no buy at the moment, so she won’t be spending any money at SEPHORA in the next few months. But one thing I love about the beauty space, and any space really, is that you can love it from afar. You can appreciate and love beautiful things without buying them. And I’ve been getting better, myself, about wanting things without purchasing them right way if at all. So in that spirit of just loving makeup, this is what’ I’d put in my SEPHORA cart right now if I had $1000 to spend on beauty.
[ the general thought process ]
These are products I actually want, and realistically may purchase one day. But for whatever reason, I haven’t or haven’t yet. I also went pretty makeup heavy here. I wanted to throw a Dyson Airwrap* in my cart, but I don’t know that I’d actually purchase that. It’s just soooo expensive. But I don’t use hair tools often.
I also didn’t want to go too skincare heavy. With an unrealistic budget, you may feel inclined to go ham on luxury skincare, but the reality is you have to repurchase that skincare, usually every 3 or so months. My luck is I’d fall in love with it. So, if I’m not willing to buy it once, I sure as hell won’t repurchase it.

Perricone MD No Makeup Foundation Serum*: I’ve used a few things from this No Makeup line*, and I really enjoy them. So I’d like to try more. This is a lightweight, serum type of foundation with a natural finish and light coverage — so basically everything I love in a foundation. ($60)
Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation*: Unlike the foundation I just mentioned, this one is more of a medium coverage. But what really gets me intrigued is the “self-refreshing” claim. ($47)
Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer*: I hear so many amazing things about this concealer, and since I love Hourglass I want to try it. Hourglass finishing powders are so beautiful, and this has microspherical powders that blurs and brightens the skin. And that sounds perfect. ($34)
Perricone MD No Makeup Concealer*: I’ve used this in the past, and it’s one of my all time favorite concealers. It’s super lightweight (and coverage) but subdues the appearance of blemishes and evens out the skin tone. I love it for under the eyes! ($35)
Guerlain L’Or 24K Gold Radiance Primer*: I bought this one time, and I haven’t done it again. Not because I didn’t like it, but because it’s so dang expensive. But I do enjoy it. I don’t know that the gold flecks do anything but make it look ritzy, but it makes my skin feel so good.
Perricone MD No Makeup Highlighter*: I had a sample of this once, and I waaant it. It’s kind of the like NARS Fort de France highlighter* in the sense that it looks like a nice moisturized glow, but you can build it up to be glossy, which I love. ($35)
Perricone MD No Makeup Bronzer*: And since I’m already getting a semi-full face, let’s pop the bronzer in the cart too. ($35)
Lilah B. Divine Duo Lip + Cheek in b.lovely*: I want to get more into cream blushes, and these little pebble looking things from Lilah B have been on my Loves List for a bit. B. Lovely, specially, is a pretty beige color that I have been really into lately. And I love that it’s marketed as a lip/cheek duo, because that is something I love. I love a good monochrome moment, and I think matching your lip color to your cheeks is a really easy way to apply a natural face. ($46)

Wander Beauty Mile High Club Mascara*: I received this in an Allure box in the past, and I love it and have been meaning to pick it up again. It looks very natural on the lashes while still adding volume and length. It also doesn’t flake off. ($26)
Marc Jacobs Highliner in Orange Crush*, Ody(Sea)*, + Mist Me?*: My go to liners right now are from Colourpop; they’re just so affordable. But I love the Marc Jacobs eye liners. They stay put, even with watery eyes like me. I specially want Orange Crush (orange shimmer), Mist Me? (matte lilac), and Ody(Sea) (teal green shimmer) to pop in the inner waterlines for a pop of color with certain looks. ($26 each)
Tom Ford Extreme Mascara*: Allana Davison raves about this, I believe. And that’s the only reason I want to try it. No, but she usually recommends mascaras I wind up getting on with. So…into the SEPHORA cart it goes. ($46)
Pat McGrath Mothership V palette (Bronze Seduction)*: I want a PML palette* so bad. I love an interesting color story, and she always creates the most intriguing kinds. I’m also really into very textural shadows which her palettes contain as well. I haven’t bought one yet, because I can’t figure out which I want the most — I want all of them. But I think I’m leaning toward the Mothership V* which is reds and bronzes. I love a good red smokey eye these days. ($125)
lip
Hourglass Unreal High Shine Lip Gloss in Ignite*: I am shocked I only have one lip product in this fantasy SEPHORA cart. But I just want to try an Hourglass gloss. I’ve been a really glossy bitch these days. Ignite is a peachy shade with gold shimmer. ($30)

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask*: I recently picked up the small size of this mask, and holy moly. I used this at night, and my face looked so hydrated and plump and bright and felt so smooth. Give me that full size. ($48)
Summer Fridays Overtime Mask*: And while we’re at it, let’s crank it into Overtime. This mask from Summer Fridays is supposed to be clarifying and exfoliating. ($44)
Fresh Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask (1 oz.)*: Another mask that’s been on my list for quite some time is this clay mask from Fresh. I use so many hydrating products for my dryer skin, but I don’t have anything that helps when my skin feels congested. ($23)
Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream*: I need an eye cream that is heavy enough to moisturize my dry area (hello dry patches on the eyelid) but not so heavy that it gives me those little milia bumps. I also love anything that’s brightening under the eye. ($39)
Herbivore Jasmine Glowing Hydration Body Oil*: One of my favorite times of the day is after my PM bath when I get to put on my body oil (and lotion — I like to be v moisturized). I’ve heard ok things regarding this brand. And I love the smell of jasmine. Sounds good to me. ($44)

Replica By the Fireplace*: And last into the SEPHORA cart (actually it was about 3rd but on this list it’s last), I am need of a new signature scent. I’ve been sampling some to no avail yet. I have this scent in candles, and I love it around the house. It’s the perfect combination of sexy and cozy for me. ($130)
