Hello, hello. I’m sure a lot of you are with me, but I’ve just been lacking in the creativity department lately. Being cooped up in the house has been getting to me. But I’m feeling quite productive and chatty today, so I’m taking full advantage. — Though we are in a tough situation, globally, currently, brands are still coming out with new products and preparing us for spring/summer launches. So this post is here to remind you that you don’t need to spend your coin on things you don’t need, especially now, while many of us don’t have a ton of disposable income. Let’s get right into this anti-haul for April.
NARS Laguna Bronzer with Gold Over Spray*
NARS newest collection is honestly what kicked off this anti-haul in the first place. I don’t really want any of the collection; it’s just not for me. I like all of the product categories from NARS being released, I just don’t need them.
But my gripe will this collection is the Laguna Bronzer with a Gold Over Spray*. And that isn’t me being an ass; that’s literally in the title on Sephora’s website. You. Don’t. Need. This.
It’s $45, which is more than the usual $38. And I guess the price doesn’t bother me since it’s a jumbo size*. What bothers me is paying actual money for an over spray. If this version of Laguna was formulated to be a little glowier or shimmery for summer, ok. I can kind of get behind that. But “over spray” is in the title! At that rate, just buy the Laguna bronzer* for less money.
Natasha Denona Mini Retro Eye Shadow Palette*
I actually think this is really cute. I surprisingly found myself enjoying the color palette, which I didn’t think I would at first glance. It’s light and easy and retro, and very much what I’m into at the moment. However, the main reason I won’t be picking this up is because Roen just came out with a very similar quad* in terms of color story, and I’m thinking about picking that up in Sephora’s VIB sale later this week.
While the ND is cheaper than the Roen quad, I am gravitating toward shimmers and metallics more often than anything else these days. I’m obsessed with a quick one shadow look, and shimmers nd metallic finishes make even a one product look seem dimensional. I just haven’t been reaching for mattes.
And besides, this doesn’t seem to be limited edition, so if I really do want to pick it up at some point, I have plenty of time.
Milk Makeup Melatonin Lip Mask* + Overnight Serum*
Ok. If you’ve not caught on yet, companies put hot topic ingredients in products to get you to buy them. Remember the CBD/cannabis craze? Melatonin is associated with sleep and getting your body ready for sleep. A melatonin infused lip mask* or serum* is not going to help you sleep. That’s not how it works.
Their marketing claim surrounds these products being used at night, so you wake up to smoother, bouncier, and hydrated skin and lips. I haven’t tried these, obviously, so I can’t speak to the quality or effectiveness, but I’m just not super interested. The marketing didn’t draw me in.
The serum* is in Milk’s stick packaging, which I also don’t love. I don’t like spreading a stick all over my skin, especially now that I’m breaking out more after coming off the Pill.
Another point is that melatonin isn’t listed in the ingredients until #15 on the lip mask* and #10 on the serum*. So even if the melatonin as an ingredient did anything, you aren’t going to receive any of the benefits from the concentration you’re getting in either of these products. I kind of want to do an ingredient

Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas Primer*
This is one I have a lot to say about, because I already have and love the original Silk Canvas putty primer*. I’m not a huge fan of pore filling primers typically, but this one from Tatcha is just different. But because I have that, I don’t feel like I have a purpose for this in my collection right now.
If you’re someone who likes the effect the original gives but don’t like putting your fingers into the pot, then maybe this is great for you. But I don’t mind sticking my hands into it, so.
Who’s to say I won’t buy this ever, but I’m holding off now for sure. Though I may get a sample if it’s available to see if I think it performs similarly.
Stila Road Less Traveled Eye Shadow Palette*
Not going to lie, kind of forgot about Stila. Oops. I don’t have a ton to say about this, honestly. I just know I don’t need it nor do I want it.
Doesn’t this kind of look a Christmas palette? I don’t know. It does to me. The color story is weird to me–which is fitting for “Road Less Traveled*” name for sure. And while it looks pretty enough, I can’t think of many looks I’d do with it.
And then you see the swatches. They’re just weak.
Revlon Oil Absorbing Roller
To be fair, when I first saw this, I thought it was rolly powder — which I thought was stupid. But the more I looked into it, that isn’t actually what this is. This is an oil blotting stone made from volcanic stone. But I still think it’s stupid.
This is supposed to be a more sustainable solution to oil blotting papers. But I have some issues here.
Sure, you can disassemble this little device, clean the stone, and it’s not a single use product. But I find it hard to believe that this bulky plastic product is more sustainable than sheets of paper that are probably biodegradable. I’m not an expert, I could be wrong. This is just me thinking out loud.
Also I’m not going to carry this around. I know I won’t. So I’m not going to buy it.
~$12.99 — I thought this was already available, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. So I’m not actually sure.
What do you think of these new launches? Are you interested in any of them, or are they going on your anti-haul list?
