I’ve teetered back and forth on whether or now I was going to put out any SEPHORA VIB Sale content this season. Because I wasn’t sure I was going to be shopping the sale. But then I started to run out of a lot of products all at once, and figured the sale was the best time to pick up replacements. So here I am doing a few SEPHORA VIB Sale recommendations posts. Today I’m talking about the products I plan on picking up in the sale as well as basic sale info, but I also plan on putting out two more SEPHORA VIB Sale related posts. One will be holiday sets I’m interested in, and the second will be focused on products I think would be special to gift or add to your own collection. So let’s get into my SEPHORA VIB Sale wishlist and cart.
The Basics
SEPHORA does these sale events twice a year – once in the spring and once in the fall. And I typically do round-up posts for them. So if you’ve been around for a while, you’ve definitely seen a few of these posts. And you can almost gauge how long you’ve been with me on The Lipstick Narratives by the amount of SEPHORA VIB Sale posts you’ve seen.
The 2021 Holiday event starts today, 11/5, for Rouge members and will end on 11/15. I am Rouge, which is not something to aspire to, so I have actually already placed my order at the time of writing this. But I have included all of the dates, codes, and information below.
- Rouge members: Use code YAYHOLIDAY for 20% off your purchase beginning on 11/5-11/15.
- VIB members: Use code YAYHOLIDAY for 15% off your purchase beginning on 11/9-11/15.
- Beauty Insider members: Use code YAYHOLIDAY for 10% off your purchase beginning on 11/11-11/15.
This code is an unlimited use code both in store and online.
There is also a 30% discount on all SEPHORA Collection throughout the entirety of the sale (but note it is not in conjunction with the BI discount amounts. Find out more sale disclaimers here*.)
If you are not already a member of the Beauty Insider program, it is free to join, and you can do so here*.
What’s In My SEPHORA VIB Sale Cart?
So, like I said, I didn’t originally plan on shopping this sale. I haven’t really be excited about makeup lately. I mean, I have. But I have been more interested in playing around with what I have and experimenting with new techniques and combinations rather than any new launches. Likewise, I’ve been focusing more and more on my haircare and skincare lately. And that’s reflective in what I ended up ordering. So what did I pick up?
Makeup:
I did pick up a couple of makeup items:
- Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray*: This is one of my all-time favorite setting sprays. There is something magical in it. I spray this at the end of my makeup application, and it meshes everything together and gives the skin the most beautiful glow and flawless filter effect. It’s amazing. And I do think it makes my makeup last a bit longer.
I actually picked up a holiday version* of this that includes two smaller bottles. Same product, just the added convenience of a smaller size to toss into my overnight bag. - Merit Shade Slick in Bel Air* and Taupe*: I purchased a couple of these when they first launched, and I am obsessed with the formula, especially the shade Au Naturale*. I’ve almost used it up completely. I have a full review on Merit that you can read here. But the Shade Slicks are a beautifully comfortable oily gloss product that is feels light on the lip and offers such a wet looking, plumping shine.
I want to pick up Bel Air, a warm clear, and Taupe, a neutral brown. - Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder*: I’ve been using the Maybelline Fit Me Powder*, and I’ve finally finished it. So I wanted to pick up a new powder, and I decided to go back to this tried and true. The Hourglass Veil powder* is one of my faves. I’ve spoken about it before. I like it on my face and under my eyes. And I think it leaves my skin looking smooth and brightened and doesn’t look cakey at all.
Skincare:
- Lord Jones Pore Detox CBD Face Oil*: I’ve been using the Guerlain Advanced Youth Watery Oil* and loving it. But I recently ran out, and I’ve also been eyeing this one from Lord Jones. I don’t know if CBD is that effective for the skin in the way brands claim; however, most products I have used that contain CBD have been beautifully moisturizing. And as a dry girl, I appreciate that. Plus, I have used Lord Jones products in the past, and I really think they’re lovely.
While this oil is designed for oily skin, I still wanted to give it a go. I’ve been dealing with some hormonal acne and generally clogged pores and redness, so I’m hoping this may help combat it. - Tower 28 SOS Daily Skin Rescue Spray*: This has been a little skincare secret weapon for me lately. It’s a super simple, 3-ingredient spray that I use every morning after cleansing and before applying any other skincare. The superstar ingredient is hypochlorous acid, which is supposed to diminish the appearance of redness and bad bacteria. And since I started using this, my skin has been more even in tone, less irritated, and I’ve had significantly less blemishes. I just ran out, so I definitely knew I wanted to pick up another bottle!
- Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm*: I love a good cleansing balm. I just finished the Clinique Take the Day Off Balm*, and I like that one, but wanted something else. So I bounced between a couple but ultimately landed on the Farmacy Green Clean*, which I’ve used and loved numerous times.
I love that this balm doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry, but it removes even stubborn makeup and sunscreen. It does have papaya enzymes, which are exfoliating agents, but I don’t notice my skin reacting to this in combination with other actives I may be using.
The other two I thought about trying were the Youth to the People Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm* and the Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme* balm. - SK-II Pietra Power Kit*: I have been using the SK-II Essence* on and off for years. And since I’m focused a little more on skincare these days, I wanted to pick it up again. But they always have these really great sets, so I focused on one of those.
The Facial Treatment Essence* is what it sounds like – a cushiony, fluid treatment to soften the texture on the skin, reduce the appearance of dark spots and fine lines, hydrate, and increase radiance in the skin. It’s one of those spa-like, self-care moment types f products that I just enjoy using.
The kit also includes a cleanser* and the SKINPOWER Airy Milky Lotion*, which sounds like a moisturizer I’m going to love – by the name alone.
Hair:
I wanted to add a whole new hair routine to my cart this year. But, realistically, I still have product I’m trying to work through first. But I did pick up one tool I’ve been eyeing.
- T3 Twirl Trio Interchangeable Clip Curling Iron Set*: I’ve been using the same 3/4″ Conair curling iron* since high school. And I mean … if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I can get a lot of of different curl styles with this one iron, and I’ve been really happy with it. But in experimenting with hair things, I’ve noticed it’s just easier to get certain styles right with different barrels. So I picked up this trio set that comes with a 1″, 1.25″, and 1.5″ barrel.
Fragrance:
Not that I needed any new fragrances, but I added two to my cart.
- Chloé Naturelle Eau de Parfum Travel Spray*: The original Chloe perfume* is my absolute favorite of all time. It’s such a sophisticated and sexy floral, and I just feel like my best self when I wear it. So when I saw Chloe came out with a new fragrance, I was very interested. I got a travel size just in case I wasn’t a huge fan. I’m rubbish at describing scents, so I’m just pasting the description here:
“Fragrance Description: The hero ingredient of this eau de parfum is a handpicked and ethically sourced organic rose, which opens the perfume with an airy and feminine aura complemented by Moroccan neroli. It also has notes of fresh and delicate cedrat essence mingled with green, sparkling black currant for an assertive spirit, while base notes of cedar essence add a powerful woody facet. This fragrance also has sensual mimosa highlights that round out the scent character and elevate the floral heart notes.“ - Maison Margiela REPLICA Autumn Vibes Travel Spray*: If you’ve been around here for a bit, you know how much I love the Maison Margiela fragrances and was super excited t see Autumn Vibes join the roster. Here’s the description:
“Fragrance Description: This crisp, woody perfume balances a note of fresh fir balsam with spicy cardamom alongside the warm scent of cedarwood to re-create a familiar moment of escape and gathering on an autumn day.“
So, this was obviously a lot of stuff. And there is no need to spend this much, or anything at all, for the sake of a sale. I ran out of a lot of products at once, unfortunately for my wallet. But are you planning on picking anything up in the sale? What’s on your SEPHORA VIB Sale wishlist?
