The other day I was scrolling through my SEPHORA order history trying to a find a shade of something. And I realized that 1) I have spent an obscene amount of money at SEPHORA in 2020 and 2) I have found some really great things this year. Then I started to see this post idea floating around beauty Youtube, so I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon. So that’s exactly what we’re going to do, talk about my best SEPHORA purchases of the year.
The Best SEPHORA Purchases of 2020
Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand*: Liquid bronzer and contour has always stressed me out, but this product is foolproof. Seriously. It’s nearly impossible to mess up application. I like that the product packaging locks so no product leaks from the sponge. And a few dots along my cheekbone, forehead, and jaw line blended out with a beauty sponge or brush makes for the easiest, diffused contour/bronzer effect. It’s truly beautiful. (I use the shade Fair/Medium*.)

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush*: There was some mixed reviews on these liquid blushes, but I am in the camp that loves them. I find the gel-like, bouncy texture easy to apply and use with a variety of product underneath. My favorite way to use these is by following the blush draping technique, and the shade Bliss* is a gorgeous matte pink.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray*: I love a good setting spray, but when Charlotte Tilbury released her Flawless Setting Spray, I thought it wasn’t going to be worth the money. But I bought it anyway. And boy am I glad I did. I can’t explain what it is about this product, but it meshes all of your makeup together for a truly flawless look in a way even my favorite drugstore sprays don’t do.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eyeliner*: The last Charlotte Tilbury product; I promise. I saw Charlotte Tilbury use this in a tutorial and though the color looked nice. So I popped it in my cart one go, but I had no idea how much I’d love it. The pencil formula itself is nice. It’s easy to smudge, and I find it stays on the eye for a long time. But it’s the particular Pillow Talk color for me. It’s a plummy berry brown, and every time I wear it, it makes my blue eyes pop. But I really think it’d complement all eye colors. It’s such a unique color, especially to my collection. And I use it non-stop.

Gucci L’Obscur Mascara*: I bought this in April (don’t judge me; I’m still using it.) And it’s one of my absolute favorite mascaras. Not only is the packaging amazingly beautiful, but so is the formula. It’s designed to give you editorial lashes. They’re long and black. And what I really love about this is that I have the option to build this up to be very spidery and almost clumpy, but also have the option to fall short of that effect as well. One coat gives me a dark, long lash, and building it up only makes it better.

ROEN 11:11 Eyeshadow Palette*: I’m so glad I added this formula to my collection. I have a full review on this palette, so I won’t linger too much. This is the palette that really propelled me into loving that grungy, textured, messy eye look. The shades in the 11:11 palette are pretty colors, but it’s the textures that make them special.

Tower 28 Shine-On Milky Lip Jelly*: These are hands down my favorite glosses I found this year, and I tried a lot of lip gloss in 2020. The formula is so smooth and not at all sticky. And they’re just pigmented enough. I also find they play well on top of other products. Sometimes glosses will move and just look weird on top of other lip products, but not these.
